Parking on public streets and alleys in the City of Naperville is prohibited from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. daily. Motorists may request special street parking permission but are limited to three requests per vehicle per month. Approval of overnight parking requests is at the discretion of the Naperville Police Department.

Please note that you DO NOT have to submit this request and you will not be ticketed for parking overnight on a public street if:

• Your neighborhood participates in the City’s Overnight Parking Program AND your vehicle clearly displays the HOA-issued hangtag associated with the program AND is parked in an area designated in the Municipal Code as being exempt from the overnight parking ordinance.

Overnight parking requests for vehicles with a curb weight of 12,000 pounds or more WILL NOT be accepted online and must be requested by calling Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Section at (630) 420-8833. Curb weight is defined as the weight of a motor vehicle with standard equipment, fuel, oil, and coolant.

Use this portal to provide details of chronic overnight parking violations or traffic law violations that do not require an immediate police response. Please be as specific as possible regarding the concerning driving behavior, the location of the problem, and the day of week and time of day the problem is most often encountered.

Citizen-reported traffic concerns are provided to police for informational purposes and are investigated by the Naperville Police Department as resources and circumstances allow. Every complaint received will not necessarily result in targeted enforcement or enhanced police presence.
