Submission of a Vacation Watch request does not create a guarantee of police presence, surveillance, or crime prevention at the listed address. Vacation Watch checks are conducted as staffing levels, call volume, and operational priorities permit.
The Seaford Police Department assumes no responsibility or liability for loss, damage, or criminal activity that may occur before, during or after the requested vacation watch period.
Vacation Watch requests are intended as an extra service and should not replace personal security measures, such as locking doors and windows, securing valuables, using lighting or alarm systems, arranging for mail and package collection, and notifying a trusted neighbor or family member.
By submitting this request, the resident acknowledges and agrees that:
- Police officers may conduct exterior checks only unless otherwise specified and legally permitted
- Officers may approach the residence at varying times and without prior notice
- False or inaccurate information may result in the request being canceled
Residents should immediately contact 911 to report crimes or emergencies and should not rely on Vacation Watch services for emergency response.
