You have the right to file a complaint against a police officer for any improper conduct. The law requires this agency to have a procedure in place to investigate civilian complaints. You are entitled to receive a written description of this procedure. 

After investigating your complaint, this agency may determine that there is not enough evidence to take action. However, you still have the right to make your complaint and have it investigated if you believe an officer has acted improperly. All civilian complaints, along with any related reports or findings, must be retained by this agency for a minimum of five years.

Please note that filing a false complaint is unlawful. If you file a complaint against an officer knowing it to be false, you could face prosecution for a misdemeanor charge.
